Once, Bay Area Combat Sambo
Reno Combat Sambo is the evolution of decades of martial arts. My initial standup style was Mantis Kung Fu . (1986-1995) I consider that period of focus really one system of training. By early 1995, I was deep in cross training and integrating techniques from a number of styles and systems. I was in Rochester NY, and training regularly with experts in other styles.
Until 2005 I considered myself an Anything Goes Martial Artist. That was until I found Sambo in 2006. Since then I have exclusively been involved in Sport and Combat Sambo.
After training with the CaliSambo team for years, our team evolved until I opened FitFight/Bay Area Combat Sambo.
After moving to Tahoe in 2017, then Reno in 2018, I began teaching again post Covid, in Reno in 2022.
We currently train in NW Reno twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30-7pm.
